I first reviewed the Nutrisystem about 3-4 years ago and I thought it was just another meal plan program. Over at Infomercial Review it has received little reviews so I thought I have another look at it to see what the Nutrisystem is all about.Some background information:
The Nutrisystem Weight Loss Program sometimes misspelt as Nutisystem or Nutrisytem is a weight loss meal plan program. Currently endorsed by Belinda Carlise. The Nutrisystem on their websites claims to have over 35 years experience with weight loss and diets, however only in recent times (1999) did they start pushing the Nutrisystem brand.
The diet is based on the Glycemic Index of Carbohydrates. The Glycemic Index measures the time and speed of glucose that is released into the blood stream. You probably already heard about High GI and Low GI foods. Nutrisystem is based on the Low GI foods as it releases glucose slowly into your bloodstream which can help sustain energy levels longer and reduce hunger urges.
What do you get?
The diet plan provides meals for entire day including breakfast, lunch, dinner, snacks and even desserts.
What are the meal plans?
Meal plans are divided into men and women, which is further broken into 4 categories, basic, silver, diabetic and vegtarian.
The Diabetic and Vegetarian meals plans are self explanatory, the Basic and Silver plans are basically different meals plan for a different age group.
How much does it cost?
The Nutrisystem currently sells their program for around $350 USD which is currently only available in the United States and Canada.
